Programming Analyst (Las Vegas)
These positions are 50% remote/telecommute, and 50% travel (expenses paid by us). You would be part of a team of employees who would be working with a variety of customers throughout the US. POSITION TITLE: Programming Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
Conducts the analysis, design, programming, evaluation, testing and implementation of computer systems programming application activities. Develops and writes business applications computer software. Develops statements of problems and requirements, designs systems and programs, and writes programs in computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques, and uses information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Develops conversion and system implementation plans.
LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Analyst Level participates in the design, specification, implementation, and maintenance of business applications. Designs, codes, tests and documents computer programs of moderate complexity. May participate with customer in design reviews and technical briefings. Requires a Bachelors degree and 2-6 years of programming experience or a combination of education and experience.
SPECIALITY
Should have a least 2 years of experience in Database administration, and/or ERP Application Support, JAVA Script, JAVA, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Access DB, Oracle DB, Active Directory, Altiris, Microsoft SMS / SCCM, Service –Now, Remedy or equivalent help desk software. Working knowledge of networks, the Internet, modern protocols and email, SMTP, POP3 and a working knowledge of relational databases, an understanding of system administration in UNIX-Solaris/AIX, LUNIX, Windows Server products, Routing and Switching (LAN/WAN), Storage Area Networking (SAN and NAS). A fundamental understanding of IT service management and the ITIL business process is a plus
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participates in the investigation of system requirements.
• Discusses and evaluates new proposals and problem solutions with customers.
• Codes, tests, and documents moderately to highly complex programs in specialized languages. Prepares or modifies job control language. Tests the implementation for conformance to the design.
• Assists in preparation of systems specifications including revising manuals, design of forms and computer output, and documenting user procedures.
• Performs functions of total computer design for moderately to highly complex problems including specification of interfaces, file content and format, and general logic considerations. Develops and executes unit test programs to ensure correctness of implementation.
• Prepares work plans for all assignments and reports progress of plans to Manager. Works as part of a team on small projects.
• Designs and develops user and operational documentation.
