The Systems Engineer provides support, maintenance and optimization of the server level systems and storage. The Engineer, Systems participates in the design and development of new technology environments. Performs all duties in accordance with NVCI’s mission, vision and values of Discovery, Excellence, Collaboration, Compassion, Integrity, and Stewardship.
Position Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and three to five years of computer related professional experience is required. Five to seven years of server/storage support can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree and experience. Must exhibit a deep level of understanding of Microsoft Server software, such as Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2003, SQL Server 2000 as well as DNS, DHCP. Must exhibit a strong understanding to the TCP/IP Protocol and Windows networking. A team player in this role is essential. Incumbent must be willing to learn new technologies and accept additional responsibility. Coordination of multiple tasks and effect oral and written is required. Flexible schedule is required for occasional weekend and evening work. Knowledge and understanding of Citrix is preferred. Three to five years of MCSE and experience in the information field is preferred. Must have a valid Nevada Driver’s License (or obtain one within 30 days of hire).
